Introduction

Well, Klingons are a great race to use if you know how to use them.  All of their ships seem to be tougher than anybody elses, their weapons are unmatched however they compromise for this brute strentgth by lacking a bit in the special weapons aspect of Armada.

Using their ships

When talking about scouts, they're as good as any other, but their destroyers are a different story, their Bird of Prey is very strong and has powerful weapons (in comparison with other destroyers) not to mention the ability to cloak.  They are equipped with gravity mines which slow down a ship, usually doesn't help a whole lot. The most effective use of gravity mines is to deploy gravity mines, fight until you'r close to dead and retreat to repair, with the mines on them, they won't have a prayer of chasing you. The Suq'Jach fires powerful torpedo but is in itself a weak ship, it's commando team can be useful for capturing ships, however not nearly as effctive as the Borg's ability to assimilate. If you're going to capture a ship using the commando team, use large numbers of Suq'Jach's and remember, the ship can use it's special weapon twice before draining special energy, so basically what I'm trying to say is to deply as many as those teams as you can onto one ship.   The Vor'cha is allright, it fires an energy beam and has the ability to cloak, similar to it's counterparts It's poleron torpedo usually isn't that great, it damages an internal system, it is not too effective unless it destroys the shields or the weapons.   As with the Suq'Jach, if you're planning on doing some hunting with the Vor'Cha, remember to use numbers, lots of poleron torpedoes can severely cripple a ship. If the Klingons have any flaws, they make up for it in their powerful Negh'Var battleships, it's a tough and powerful ship with a special weapon that will plow through just about anything, The Klingons don't go for anything fancy here, just an ion burst with raw brute strength. There's no intricate plan for using this thing, just remember not to waste the ion burst, just one will take out about 500 shields, so there's no need to shoot every ion burst you can at one ship.  This is a case where I'd say, just concentrate on the battleships, build mostly Negh'Vars accompanies with some cruisers or destroyers.   This goes for anybody who is fighting agains Federation or Romulan, don't ever, ever think that your huge fleet is going to crush them, you must be wary of the artillery ships, they'll turn any size fleet in a smoldering pile of rubble real quick, they can just ruin your whole day.  So remember, your top priority is to bypass any escorts and destroy all artillery ships ASAP.  The Fehk'lar is a great special ship, it's special weapons are all useful to a certain extent, the death chant can be especially useful for increasing the effectiveness of any fleet.  The repulsion wave is nice for throwing enemy ships and disabling the engines.  The Ion storm is especially good for destroying both ships and buildings.  The energy dissipator doesn't disable weapons entirely, but it does drain special energy, which is really good for thwarting massive CRT's coming from Akiras.  The Klingons possess the most powerful Super ship, the Jach'Eng class starship.  It emmanates a shockwave which destroyes anything infront of it.  The great thing about the Jach'Eng class is that you don't have to get in the middle of the area you want to destroy to do massive damage unlike the Romulan Phoenix, the Jach'Eng class can shoot it's shockwave outwards making it much easier to get the ship to the target site and does minimal friendly fire; however, you pay the price for this advatage, an extra 500 dilithium compared with the Romulan phoenix.

Cloaking

Since Klingons cloak, I'll go ahead and put my thoughts on cloaking here, but the exact same section will be included with the Romulans.  Everyone has different views on cloaking, in my general opinion, it's not a good idea, it can be very good against a player who either does research tachyon detection grid and doesn't have sensor arrays or a player who just doesn't research tachyon detection grid at all.  But most online players research tachyon detection grid and build sensor arrays, and if your enemy meets these two requirements, I'd say, just forget about cloaking.  You never want to get caught with your pants down by moving your entire fleet into an enemy stronghold and have half you ships die before they are able to uncloak, your shields are down when you cloak, and if the enemy can see you, they can shoot you, and if they can shoot you with out you having your shields raised, you're dead.  So the basic cloaking rule is: cloak if the person is stupid, and doesn't have tachyon detection grid, or cloak away from well fortified areas.
